Te Whanganui-a-Tara based artist primarily focused on painting and drawing practices. Lewis paints trivial scenes, with a roughly outlined and seemingly unfinished style, guided by notional grooves of thought.

A multi-disciplinary artist who focuses on using discarded and found materials, and the real world associations they carry, to invoke reverie-like thoughts that may be traced back to nostalgic ideals of home, sunshine and simpler times. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from Toi Rauwhārangi Massey University in 2024.

Understudy invites us to reflect on a role shaped by its own waiting. On the periphery, it suggests an unsettling sense of unrealised potential, an ambivalence, or even a quiet tension.
